Police Patrol Officer

The San Augustine Police Department has an opening for a full-time patrol officer position. We are looking for an experienced officer to complement our staff; however we are willing to train the right academy graduate. The patrol officer is responsible for call response, criminal patrol, investigations and traffic enforcement. Our officers are expected to be pro-active with enforcement and be visible within the community by participating in the community policing concept.

Job Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:

Must be 21years of age at the time of application with the city.
Must be a United States Citizen.
Must have a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Two years of previous peace officer experience is desired.
Must have a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Peace Officer License in good standing
Must not have been convicted of any class A or B misdemeanor offense within the last 10 years.
Must not have been convicted of any grade felony offense.
Must not have been convicted of any offense involving family violence.
Must have or be able to obtain a Class C Texas driver license upon employment.
Must be able to pass the TCOLE required physical, psychological and drug screen.
Must be able to participate in and successfully complete the department's FTO program. Applicants with previous experience may participate in an abbreviated FTO program.

Starting pay depends on qualifications.
