Dear Emergency Management Partners: (Please share with any of your entities that may need to join in):

On February 20, 2021, Governor Abbott announced that his request for a federal major declaration was granted for the Severe Winter Storm that began on February 11, 2021 and is ongoing.  The FEMA designation for this disaster is DR-4586, which opens up funding through FEMA’s Public Assistance (PA) program for the reimbursement of cost for emergency protective measures.

Public Assistance program applicants include state, territorial, tribal, local governments and certain private non-profits. To begin the reimbursement process, you will need to participate in a virtual applicant briefing, which will provide vital information about the PA program.

Applicant briefings begin on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at 0900 and occur each weekday until further notice. Please visit the link below to register for any of the available briefings currently scheduled:

Once you complete your registration, you will be provided a Meeting Link and Meeting I.D. for your selected session. Please note, you only need to attend one of the applicant briefings.

If you have any questions, please route them to your TDEM District Coordinator or Regional TDEM Recovery staff.
