Burning in Texas and the Law

We are posting the TCEQ Guide to Outdoor burning which helps explain the Revised Outdoor Burning Rule, Texas Administrative Code, Sections 111.201-221.

Specifically within the City of San Augustine, or the county for that matter, you may not burn plant waste you take from another property at your business or in a place other than where the waste was generated. When you do that you turn your property into a disposal site, and you open yourself up to enforcement action from the TCEQ and possibly local authorities. In other words, it is unlawful to collect leaves and other cuttings from a customer's home, and haul them away to burn at your location. This is important for local landscapers here in San Augustine.
