Billing Due Date Changed

To all City utility customers, the City Hall has changed the due date to add an extra five days for payment without late fees. There is no remaining conceivable way we can do anything more differently to avoid being at the mercy of the US Postal Service, so we are changing the date as a tactic to give people more time to plan. The Post Office is of course not doing it to us on purpose, but federal mandates for central mail processing outside rural areas as well as the recent changes in reaction to tropical Storm Imelda have made our billing system for those counting on paper bills unsustainable. Also we are never budgeting for making money on late fees or inconveniencing customers, so we moved back the date by five (5) days. We will adjust the remaining process on our end.

As a reminder you can get your bill online now and it can be sent to your smart phone by email. You can also pay your utilities by online payment. The date of automatic drafts will remain unchanged.
